This family is a face hosted call station for fire alarm systems. The family is surface mounted and is imported with a default elevation of 0”. The elevation is to be adjusted as necessary based on the duct elevation it is hosted to. The smoke detector may be placed on a vertical face, face, or work plane under the modify > placement tab when inserting the family.

Visual Mounting Requirements: In general, wall mounted visual fire alarm devices shall be mounted at a height where the entire lens located within 80 in to 96 inches above finished floor. If the ceiling height cannot accommodate this, the device may be within 6 inches of the ceiling, where the strobe coverage is reduced by two times the difference between 80 inches and the actual mounting height.

Audible Mounting Requirements: Audible devices shall be mounted with the top of the device at a height that is not less than 90 inches above the finished floor and not less than 6 inches from the ceiling.

For audible visual alarms, the device mounting height should meet both requirements.

This is a face hosted family for audio only, audio/visual, and visual only fire alarms. The family is surface mounted and are imported with a default elevation of 90” when installed on a vertical face. The elevation is to be adjusted as necessary. The fire alarm may be placed on a vertical face, face, or work plane under the modify > placement tab when inserting the family.

The flow switch may be placed on a vertical face, face, or work plane under the modify > placement tab when inserting the family.

This family is a face hosted heat detector connected to the fire alarm system. The family is intended to be mounted on the ceiling using the reflected ceiling plan. When inserting the family, be sure to adjust the placement to “face” under the modify > placement tab. The default placement will be “vertical face,” which will not appear on the ceiling. Since the device is mounted on the ceiling, it will take the elevation of the ceiling. .

This a face hosted heat detector family connected to the fire alarm system. The family is intended to be mounted on a wall or vertical surfaces and is imported with a default height of 48”. The family may be placed on a vertical face, face, or work plane under the modify > placement tab when inserting the family.

This a face hosted magnetic door holder family connected to the fire alarm system. The family is intended to be mounted on a wall or vertical surfaces and is imported with a default height of 48”. There are two different types based on the orientation that the family is installed: upright or sideways.

This a face hosted program bell family. The family is intended to be mounted on a wall or vertical surfaces and is imported with a default height of 90”. The family may be placed on a vertical face, face, or work plane under the modify > placement tab when inserting the family.

This a face hosted program horn family connected to the fire alarm system. The family is intended to be mounted on a wall or vertical surfaces and is imported with a default height of 90”. You should be careful not to locate the detector near any device that will obstruct its operation like air diffusers and sprinklers. The key is to locate the smoke detector such that it will detect smoke during all situation, like if the air conditioning system is on or off or if a sprinkler is operating or not. In addition, the detectors should be located such that they can be easily maintained and accessed.
